Ok, so I'm a little behind the times on this one. I'm just getting around to posting this... so sue me. OSHA, big brother, recently released a preliminary list of the top 10 safety violations. Surprise, Surprise, look who made the list.
Yep, checking in at #2 is your friend and mine... fall protection violations. What is the current total? 6,771 violations!
The bad part? In the previous year, that total was 4,797. What the hell is going on? That number has increased by 2,000 even with increased awareness.
The important thing to remember in all of this? It's not the fines. It's the lives of your employees, friends, and co-workers. Even though the economy might not be in the best of shape... it sucks. Don't sacrifice your well being. Jobs may come and go, and they're certainly not worth your life.
